Enrichment Studies Unit is run by a team of professionals who are dedicated to ensuring that your child has the best experience possible.
Dean Howley joined the ESU team in 2016 as a Program Coordinator after two years as an instructor of popular business and entrepreneurship courses in the SEEDS, EMC, and SEEQ programs. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Trent University and a Master of Science in Management from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. Dean brings with him a unique combination of academic, career, and teaching experience that have shaped his passion for education and his dedication to the mission and values of the ESU. As a former instructor himself, Dean works closely with ESU Instructors to coordinate courses and programming. He also coordinates the Enrichment Mini Course (EMC), Summer Enrichment Experience @ Queen’s (SEEQ), and Queen’s Excellence in Leadership Training (QuEST) programs.
Hanna Knowles joined the team in 2016 as a Program Coordinator after starting her professional career as an elementary school teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trent University, a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, and is an Ontario Qualified Teacher. She is also a past ESU participant. Hanna’s experience as an elementary school teacher and her work with struggling and at-risk youth, combined with her exceptional customer service skills and program coordination experience, will be an asset as she takes the lead working with ESU student staff. Hanna will also be the lead coordinator for the Seven Eight Enrichment Days (SEEDS), and our partner programs with Family & Children’s Service, Pathways for Youth, and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.
Linda Lamoureux joined the ESU team in 2015 as the Program Coordinator. In 2016, she moved from her role as Program Coordinator into the role of Outreach Coordinator for ESU. Linda is an Ontario Qualified Teacher and active community volunteer with diverse experience in the field of education focused on student enrichment in both traditional and innovative, non-traditional settings. Her work with ESU over the past year, along with extensive knowledge of the education system will be an asset as she travels around the Province promoting the opportunities available for students at ESU to parents and teachers.
Sam Martin joined the ESU team in 2010. She holds a Diploma in Medical Administration from St. Lawrence College and is a past ESU participant. She has extensive experience as an office administrator in the fields of education and medicine. Sam’s professional experience combined with her passion for the opportunities that ESU offers students are readily evident to every person she deals with.
Tracey Mallen joined the ESU team as the Manager in 2014. She holds a Master of Education from Queen’s University and a Diploma in Business Administration from St. Lawrence College. Tracey brings diverse experience in the fields of education, volunteer management, human resources, event planning, and career coaching.
