Grade 6 Day

[Grade 6 students]

Grade 6 Enrichment Day is a new program launched in 2011 that offers interesting ways to increase your knowledge! Go beyond the everyday at Queen’s University where a beautiful campus, state of the art facilities and friendly faces will make your experiences enjoyable.

Engage with your instructor and classmates as you take an in-depth look at a course that peaks your interest! The Enrichment Studies Unit invites highly motivated and gifted grade 6 students to attend classes at Queen’s for one day. You will join dozens of students from the Kingston area on Queen’s campus to explore facilities and labs, while participating in an interesting topic that is not offered at your school.

The program is supervised by current Queen’s students who will interact with participants and answer any questions you may have about university life.

Participants will arrive at a central meeting location in the morning and be walked by our Student Supervisors to their courses in classrooms across campus. Students will be supervised over pizza lunch provided at no extra cost by the Enrichment Studies Unit.

Depending on the course, students will learn about their topic of interest through lectures, group discussions, video presentations, field trips, experiements and more, with a strong emphasis on hands-on and interactive learning.
